Dear friends,
We are thrilled to launch into ChamberFest Brown County 2022 this August 14 with a very special concert: guitarists John Marcel Williams and Jordan Dodson will be presenting an evening of colorful music from Rameau to the Beatles, featuring original compositions as well as arrangements for Guitar Duo!
Both John and Jordan are graduates from the world-renowned Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, and are now maintaining their exciting solo and teaching careers while collaborating together frequently as members of the newly formed New York City Guitar Quartet. Here's what they had to say about their upcoming duo concert at ChamberFest Brown County this August:
"We can't wait to share this fun and unique program with you all! You will hear one of the most popular pieces written for two guitars by Joaquin Rodrigo and several arrangements of classic works by French composers which translate beautifully on the guitar, and explore the extensive colors and timbre that are so unique to the instrument. We truly enjoyed putting this program together and hope you'll join us for a joyful evening!" - John Marcel Williams
"Some of my favorite chamber music is for two classical guitars - the textual possibilities are endless! It's a pleasure to bring this duo to Nashville, because our instrument is a bridge between old and new. The guitar is at once familiar and ancient. In this concert we will present some of our favorite Beatles songs alongside classics by legendary composers like Debussy and Rameau." - Jordan Dodson
The Guitar Duo will be performing at the Brown County Presbyterian Fellowship in Nashville, Indiana on Sunday, August 14. We can't wait to hear them in action!
