Our mission is to mentor and support first-generation
students for college success.

We had a blast at our 9th Annual Campus Bound Scholars Celebration!

The weather was perfect as we gathered to welcome the newest students to our CBS family, applaud our recent college grads and reconnect with students, mentors, supporters and board members.

Oh how we've grown! Nine years ago we piloted our program with two first-generation college students, now we have 84 Campus Bound Scholars from all over Westchester county. Our mission is to mentor and financially support first-gen students who dream of a college education.

This spring 3 program alumni volunteered to become CBS mentors, bringing the total to 4 program grads to take on this new role. That's the progression we envisioned - our college graduates giving back by becoming mentors themselves. As Fanny Munoz, a 2020 graduate of University at Buffalo stated, "I hope the knowledge I gained throughout my college experiences can be a useful tool for my mentee as they embark on their own college journey. I am excited and so thankful to be able to give back to the CBS community that has helped shape me into the graduate I am today."

After some introductory remarks CBS founder, Amy Peck invited some current college students to offer advice to the incoming first year students. The panel tackled topics including time management, imposter syndrome, homesickness, making new friends and the perennial favorite... food on campus!

Big thanks to Mayor Gina Picinich of Mount Kisco, a first-gen college student herself, for adding her best wishes to those gathered!

A college education opens doors previously unimaginable for first-generation students.

Thank you very much for supporting our mission!
