This months theme is 'courage'. As we begin a New Year (that may have more surprises than the last) let us do so with courage. When we have the courage to face our fears, there isn’t much we can’t achieve. Let us be courageous in all that we do, in mind, body and soul!

Physical Fitness for Healthy Aging:

Is resistance training with weights safe past a certain age?

 

It is a GREAT question. At any age there is a level of risk (danger) that comes with weightlifting, in all its forms. But is there a greater risk (danger) for those who are not as young as they used to be? Are those who have gone up and over ‘the hill’ putting themselves at risk by working out with resistance training with weights? Is the risk worth the reward?

Resistance weight training with a VIDA Performance coach is one of the most effective treatments to prevent, slow down or partially reverse age-related muscle loss/sarcopenia. It can help reduce the risk of falling. Let’s not forget about how it can fend off the detrimental health issues that come with aging as well. Remember our slogan:
