Christmas Update

Youth Work Ireland Meath will close its offices and youth centre on Wednesday, December 23rd and reopen on Monday, January 4th.

In what has been an exceptional year, we look forward to our staff, volunteers and young people getting a well earned break to recharge the batteries and come back in 2021 with more enthusiasm and confidence then ever before.

Winter Wellbeing Packs

Mental Health and Winter Pride packs were distributed throughout December.

Thanks to Outcomers, Involve Youth Project Meath, Youthreach Navan, School Completion and Mosney Accommodation Centre for having us over.

More packs were given out to members of our LGBT groups, Lightbulb Club, YouthQuake and Meath Comhairle na nÓg.

With thanks to Meath CYPSC,

Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth

Community Wellbeing Winners

At the start of December, we were delighted with the news that we won first place in the Navan Municipal District's for Best Wellbeing Project.

The project saw us deliver mental health packs to young people right across the county, during the first wave of the pandemic.

The response was based on the 5 ways to wellbeing: Give, Connect, Be Active, Keep Learning and Take Notice, with an item or activity to help integrate wellbeing into a young persons life.

RTE Does Comic Relief Fund

To wrap up our year on a positive note, we were thrilled to have been awarded a grant from the #RTEComicRelief fund.

This funding will be used to help expand our Digital and Blended Youth Work into 2021 and beyond.

Zoom Zoom

Erica Moran, one of the participants in our Music Generation project, wrote and composed this tune about her experience of COVID and the impact it had through the year. Something we can all relate to.

Thank You for 2020

Finally we put together this little video with some of the socially distant celebrations we managed to have in December.

Together with some comments from young people and parents of what the service means to them.
