We appreciate everyone who has become a member of our community! By coming to our concerts and donating your time or a financial contribution to 10th Wave, you have helped the genre of classical music stay alive in the Twin Cities. Our goal is to push the boundaries of classical music by performing works by contemporary composers in settings that go beyond the concert hall while also keeping our concerts free and accessible to anyone who wants to experience something new. Your contributions will go toward music and venue rentals, paying guest artists, equipment, and administrative planning so that we can continue to provide innovative concert experiences. We need your help as both a listener and a sponsor. Please consider joining our 10 for 10th Wave campaign! |

Still Life With Avalanche by Missy Mazzoli -We love this piece for its beautiful imagery and unique instrumentation: flute, clarinet, violin, cello, percussion, piano, and a surprise you'll have to come see for yourself! Composed in 2008, this piece was commissioned by another awesome contemporary chamber group called Eighth Blackbird. Missy said she was dealing with the emotional turmoil of the sudden death of her cousin while she was away at a composers retreat in Upstate New York. "There's a moment in this piece when you can hear that phone call, when the piece changes direction, when the shock of real life works its way into the music's joyful and exuberant exterior. This is a piece about finding beauty in chaos, and vice versa. It is dedicated to the memory (the joyful, the exuberant and the shocking) of Andrew Rose." -Missy Mazzoli. | | |
