Happy Easter everyone! It is the first week of May and we are now approaching the fourth Sunday of Easter. The joyous month of May is also the month of our Blessed Virgin Mary, and what better time to bring the Catholic women together than this month of faith and reflection, flowers and festivities, beauty and charity. This month at NCBWL, three of our favorite things are at play: Ladies, Charity and Purses! Our speaker is the President of Ladies of Charity and for our Social Outreach, we are collecting pre-loved purses for other ladies to enjoy! After last month's well-attended Business Spotlight Event, we are back to Coco's Italian Market for our May Membership Meeting. We look forward to seeing you at the Event Center on May 18 but be sure to register by May 15 to help us with our headcount. Feel free to invite your fellow parishioners and friends and share the mission of the league, or bring back inactive members so we'll continue to grow. If you haven't renewed your membership for this fiscal year, please do so. |

The Ladies of Charity began with a mission "to serve rather than be served" and has been helping those in need for over 110 years. Through her actions and her role with the Ladies of Charity, Margie is demonstrating how to live her faith. Please join us and hear about her life, what it was like to raise a child with special needs, what shaped her professional life, and how she came to lead Ladies of Charity.

PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE Lynne Warne Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. (Matthew 28:19-20) I hope all of you had a fantastic Easter. This was my second year attending a sunrise service outdoors, and I loved seeing God’s spectacular show of nature on full display. It reminds me of the statement Jesus gave His followers before ascending into heaven: to “make disciples of all nations.” continue >> |

True to its name, El Festival de Esperanza was a festive and vibrant evening celebrating the 60th Anniversary of Catholic Charities! Some of the members of NCBWL enjoyed the taste and sounds of Cuba. The Cuban-themed event held April 27 was graced by the three visiting gentlemen who were among the 43 Cuban boys placed by Catholic Charities to Nashvillian families 60 years ago. It was their first time to visit this memorable city after 6 decades. Delicious Cuban food and drinks, a great cause and an amazing entertainment certainly made for a fun night! The work the Catholic Charities does for the Nashville community is amazing and we are glad to support their efforts! We also were a contributor for the commemorative 60th Anniversary book showcasing all of the ways that Catholic Charities has helped so many of our neighbors. If you would like to donate and help make a difference, you can do so on their website at https://cctenn.org/el-festival #catholiccharities #pathwaystopossibilities #lovehopehealing #60thAnniversary |
