May Update

If you are a new subscriber to our Newsletter, we would like to welcome you and thank you for subscribing!

Physical visits

Physical visits have been taking place for over one month now and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive! We have really enjoyed seeing our Residents reunited with their loved ones after such a long time apart. Our Residents are also enjoying these visits, so please continue to use our booking page to book a visit if you can.

Please note that we have been told by our Local Authority that we are not able to allow more than 2 visitors at a time, even beginning on the 17th of May. This is due to a rise in Covid cases in the BL3 area. We have been advised that this may be changed on the 31st of May, so we will keep you updated if this changes.

A quick reminder to everyone that these visits are still tightly controlled for the time being. Following the advice provided from infection control, a window must be open in the room and PPE must remain on during the entirety of your visit, as mentioned in our visitation policy.

If you are feeling unwell for any reason, please reschedule your visit with our team.

We must all follow these rules to ensure the safety of yourselves, our Residents and our staff members.

If you have any questions regarding our physical visits, we are happy to answer them. Please use our contact details to get in touch with us.

Apetito is on the way!

As mentioned in one of our previous newsletters, we will be changing our food supplier to Apetito, who supply a variety of tailored meals that are nutritionally balanced and (most importantly) very tasty! In fact, Apetito recently visited our Home for a pre-launch event, where our Residents and staff members were given an opportunity to try their food.

Everyone really enjoyed the food, which made us all the more excited for the full launch! We are hoping to begin serving Apetito meals within the next two weeks.

When possible, we would love to invite you to try the food for yourselves. We will keep you updated on when this is possible.

Rollout of our E-MAR system

Another exciting update for our Home is the rollout of the E-MAR system, which will be happening in the coming weeks.

We use MAR (Medication Administration Record) charts provided by our pharmacy to distribute medications to our Residents. With the E-MAR system, these charts will all be digitised.

This brings many advantages to our Residents and staff members, as the system will alert us if medications are time critical or missed for any reason. It will also save our staff members time and improve the audit trail for our management team amongst many other benefits.

All in all, this is a very positive step forwards for our Home and we are all looking forward to it being introduced.

Thank you once again for joining our mailing list. We hope to see you all again soon and stay safe!
