August-September

Welcome back to school, we finally made it!

We're excited to show you what we've been up to during these special times!

Meetings meetings meetings!

This summer, we have put a great deal of emphasis on communication. We have spent time talking with schools about reopening plans, as well as remote learning opportunities and expectations. During the age of Zoom, clarity is very important. Where blurred lines would normally be an issue, IPERC has been working hard on maintaining visible lines of communication among students and schools. Setting our students up for success has never been more vital.

Our dedicated team of student coordinators act as the first point of communication between schools and students. Not only have they have been hard at work collecting various 2020 Fall class plans, they have also been detailing school reopening plans with our students. For students who have decided to participate in remote learning, our coordinators have helped them submit their surveys and required paperwork, as well as understand remote learning details and guidelines.

As you can see, we have been very proactive with our preparation. We believe that this will lead to our students' continued growth and learning, despite the pandemic situation.

Online Courses Offered by Top 30 University Teachers

Each student's academic needs and interests vary, so we have prepared several online class options this summer for our students to take advantage of.

We invited special professors and instructors from Top 30 universities such as Harvard, Yale, Stanford, New York, and Northwestern University to teach our IPERC students a variety of courses such as, economics, biology, physics, computer science, psychology, and many others.

We also welcome non-IPERC students to join our online class program. Click the link below to learn more...

Highlights of Our Summer

COVID-19 has greatly impacted us all...

However, with the help of our host families and coordinators, the future looks bright!

Our California program coordinator, Joy, took Chaminade College Preparatory School students to Santa Monica for a short day trip.

Joy cares a great deal about our students, and often creates oportunaties like this.

Marion Ma kayaks with her host family, the Lykins, at Cowan Lake, Ohio.

Beautiful summer weather calls for outdoor activities. Socially distanced, but also fun!

Our Cleveland student coordinator, Vivian, took our students out for a BBQ.

Alice Cao of St. Viator High School in IL enjoys playing tennis.

Out for a picnic! Kenny, our New York student coordinator took our Albany students, Alex & Ximin out to The State University of New York where they enjoyed some fresh air and Chinese food.

(Cincinnati Country Day High School) Daniel Hong enjoys a hot pot party and s'mores with the Ernest family!

As we continue to combat the virus, simple safety precautions are still an essential part of our day to day activities. In addition to bringing snacks, our student coordinators continue to deliver thermometers, masks, and disinfectant wipes to students.

Back-to-School Highlights

In-Person:Strict but safe protocol

Our student coordinators interviewed some of our students who went back to school. They are following protocols, and are very grateful for the effort that schools have made in order to create a safe environment.

We are also making an effort to keep parents informed. We regularly share real-time campus pictures and event information.

Remote from schools

Remote learning safety begins! Student coordinators are online to help students (especially those in China) with any issues regarding schedules, internet connection, etc, as well as provide online experience feedback to schools.

Remote from IPERC's RGA Program

This summer, we worked with our partner school, Bishop Ready High, to create a flexible online program for remote students in China. This program is intended to allow international students to take their required U.S. courses through Ready Global Academy.

The program will allow students to overcome time differences and continue to receive credits from U.S schools at a normal pace. Many of our partner schools have accepted this program which has lead to the success of many of our students.

Connecting New Students with Current Students

Student coordinators invited current IPERC students to share their U.S. high school experience with new students. Topics such as clubs, social life, course requirements, software, teachers, and more were discussed.

Hosting Informative meetings

Student coordinators host school faculty member meetings to inform students of how they may participate in various clubs, prepare for sat/act, the college application process, and other extracurricular activities.
