The Countdown is On!

Two months from today the 43rd Three Peaks Yacht Race will be underway!

There's still time to get an entry in and join the 14 teams currently on the start list, but it's running out fast.

Here are a few of the teams we are looking forward to welcoming to Barmouth on June 19th, some are new to the race and others are old friends who just can't stay away!

Click the team names to read all about them and see a few photos.

Team Bee and The Bros

The Skipper is racing with his brother and daughter, his daughter's boyfriend, and the boyfriend's brother. How's that for a family team! Tim Whitaker is that skipper and he is bringing his Beneteau First 31.7 'Herbie' up from St. Mawes.

Wild Spirit

Paul Jackson is bringing Wild Spirit (Jeanneau 40) back for another go and with another very experienced team who have many races behind them.  They've won a few trophies in the past, and will be looking to win a few more.

Driac

Charles Lyster is bringing Driac back again, and will be racing for the 4th time.  The one off 1930 Camper and Nicholsons design will bring some age and experience to the race, as will his crew. "We don't expect to win, but if we can finish, we'll be very happy chaps."

That's Not My Dog

The youngest team in the race with an average age of 24, and the quirkiest team name.  Race watchers will note they are in a boat which has won and set records in the past, and the team has an impressive sailing pedigree. Will the young guns shake things up?

Sail Raisers and Trail Blazers

This team are all from White Watch in the Hereford & Worcester Fire & Rescue Service. "It’s probably fair to say that we are rookie crew, our advantage being team spirit and the strong bond we have developed through years of living and working together as firefighters on the same watch."
