Today is a day to be thankful. Although many aspects of our life may feel out of order, somewhat chaotic, and even upside down, we serve a God of order and peace.
I have been reflecting on how much I miss gathering freely with people. I miss giving hugs. I miss having heart to heart conversations over a cup of coffee. I miss having company in our home. Although relationships have been affected by isolation and distance, I know that these moments can move me toward gratefulness instead of sorrow. I know that I can still rejoice in what I have. I can be grateful for what God is doing in my life.
Did you know that God is willing to give you His very best? That He is willing to walk with you and be involved in your life?
As the priests of Israel, Aaron and his sons were charged to pray this blessing over the children of Israel, "The Lord bless you, and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”
Numbers 6:24-26
We can be reminded today that God is with us, God is for us, God is available to us. His heart is to give us peace. So in the midst of a chaotic year, we can find grace in our God.
With love and gratitude from my family to yours, have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
