-------

The Edgewater Environmental Coalition (EEC) is a recipient of an Openlands Treekeeper tree planting grant. This form is to collect candidate locations for the new trees in the neighborhood!

Fill out this form if you have a viable spot for a tree to be planted on the parkways between the curb and the sidewalk in front of residential buidings, school property, or vacant lots.

To qualify for a planting we need locations for 10 tree within walking distance from each other. Due to this, we ask you to identify your block club below. If you want a tree, this requirement is a good reason to get your neighbors and block club involved so we have more locations closer together!

Please feel free to share this request sign on to anyone in Edgewater.

For this initiative, EEC provides direction and community organizing. Openlands provides the education, event day organization, supplies, expertise, and quality control. On planting day, the Openlands Forestry Crew and certified TreeKeepers will provide tools, trees, mulch and training for volunteers.

*Please note that filling out this form isn't a guarantee of a tree.

*Please also note that these efforts are separate from the city's tree planting efforts, with expansion to our urban canopy needed, the combination of efforts between the City and Openlands will provide more net trees for the neighborhood. The efforts do not compete with each other and are both coordinated through the City's Department of Forestry. Fill out this form if you have a viable spot for a tree to be planted on a parkway (between curb and sidewalk) in front of residential buildings or vacant lots.
