MAKERS | ARTISTS | INTERIORS | FOOD | CULTURE Hello! I hope you're all keeping well. Being cooped up over the past year has had it's advantages; I for one, have found, I am far more aware of nature, and I know, I am not alone! Within this newsletter I have subconsciously featured a group of nature inspired artists. The sublime line up includes: textile artist Maisie Utting who makes handcrafted homeware using plant dyes & existing natural fibres. Graeme Black's inaugural art exhibition comprising of art works on a monumental scale to echo that of the woodlands which surround him. Three festival's to uplift and rebalance, Treegether a monthly chocolate subscription and the podcast 'grow, cook, eat, arrange' hosted by Sarah Raven and Arthur Parkinson On the subject of nature, I would like to bring your attention to the Broughton Hall Estate where I am currently enjoying working, sourcing interiors for their twelve (soon to be fourteen) holiday homes, giving them a lift, here and there. My trips to Broughton bring an enormous sense of wellbeing - have a look at the website, it will give you an idea of the tranquil atmosphere and what it has to offer. Georgie x |

GRAEME BLACK Scottish fashion-designer-turned-artist, Graeme Black will host his inaugural exhibition at Messums Yorkshire in Harrogate, 8th May - 19th June. Graeme's decided to swap a life of non-stop transatlantic travel and a career contributing to unsustainable production for a more holistic and explorative existence. The trees take on the new role of muse in Graeme's work; some majestic in their melancholy with their spindly branches touching; some weighty and solitary; others glistening and honeyed like sun-worshipping statues, each speaking of subtle fluctuations of mood and time. 'My work has always been a visual response to what I see. These are definitely portraits'. |
