Tracks - South African Theatre Production in Hong Kong

9 & 10 November 2019

The SAHK Theatre Exchange programme is pleased to announce their first production - 'Tracks'. This autobiographical one person show by Maude Sandham tells a deeply intimate story about her grandfather, and sheds light on the effects of the segregation laws during Apartheid.

Sons & Daughters Online Auction

Sons and Daughters Hong Kong (S&D) is hosting a 10 Year Anniversary Online Auction Fundraiser. The auction runs from 15 – 22 October 2019. They are hoping to raise HK$50,000 through this initiative. The funds raised through this fundraiser will assist, among others, ‘Precious’, a fellow African who wishes to reintegrate into society after working in the sex trade.

Ndlovu Youth Choir nominated for Hollywood Music Award

The music video by South African flautist and Grammy winner Wouter Kellerman and the Ndlovu Youth Choir, has been nominated for a 2019 Hollywood Music Award.

The talented choir shot to global fame during their time on America’s Got Talent, but the Ndlovu Youth Choir first caught the attention of the world when they performed an isiZulu cover of Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You” during an interview on Jacaranda’s breakfast show. And it’s that exact performance which has earned them a Hollywood Music Award nomination.The ‘Shape of You’ music video by South African flautist and Grammy winner Wouter Kellerman and the Ndlovu Youth Choir, has been nominated in the Independent Music Video category ahead of the 2019 Hollywood Music in Media Awards.

 

“So happy to be nominated for Hollywood Music in Media Awards with Ndlovu Youth Choir for our video ‘Shape of You’,” Kellerman wrote on Twitter.The awards will be held on 20 November in Los Angeles, California, USA.
