It was a perfect way to celebrate this new chapter of my life and to kick back and relax after a year of hard work!

We've Moved! Flow State Healing is now in

Room #2 at 68 Line Street

in downtown Charleston!

The healing arts center on Daniel Island has been my wonderful home for the last year, but now it is closing its doors as myself and the other practitioners of that space are moving on to even bigger and better things! With Allison doing the emotional release work that she loves by partnering with a psychiatrist, Gudrun going on maternity leave and then planning to move to downtown Mt. Pleasant, closer to her family and clients, and myself landing in an exciting new collaborative space at 68 Line street!

I love this space because it feels in alignment with another one of my passions: Environmental Stewardship.

And for my clients, it is centrally located just a block off upper king street, but easily accessible from I-26 and route 17, in an awesome walkable neighborhood filled with a mix of residential, retail, restaurants, and services. Oh, and did I mention there is free on site parking behind the building?

68 Line street is an early 20th century building that has been meticulously renovated by a forward thinking developer Richards Gregory to be Carbon Neutral and ready for the 21st century. From being powered by solar, to having super insulated, sound proof walls, and even supporting local artists with full wall murals, we think you are going to love this avant-garde  space.

I share the first floor with other healing arts practitioners, including other massage therapists, a yoga instructor, some life coaches and counselors, and a chiropractor. And we still have room for a few more if you are interested in joining us!

The second floor is leased to local conservation groups including Charleston Waterkeeper! The space and community is still forming but the building is already abuzz with positive vibes and we are sure you are going to love it.

Officially a Licensed Massage Therapist, SC license #11775

That's right. After 6 months of hard work in massage school, learning every bone and muscle of the body, I can now proudly say I am a licensed massage therapist.

Thai massage has remained my foundation and my favorite modality, but being able to do a Swedish or neuromuscular deep tissue massage are wonderul additions to my tool belt to be able to better help my clients.

And the fusion between modalities has already begun! I find myself better able to understand the powerful effects of Thai massage with my deeper knowledge of anatomy and physiology and able to target more specifically stretches and muscles that I know may be contributing to certain pain patterns.

And on the table I find myself following Sen lines and stimulating acupressure points even when doing a Swedish massage in a way that I think makes my table massage feel unique and subtly different then most. So in short, learning the western modalities of Swedish and neuromuscular massage has given my Thai practice new depth and Thai gives my table massage practice a unique flair and flow that I think you will love!

Being an LMT also opens up a whole world of continuing education opportunities for me that I am just itching to explore. Some of the classes at the top of my list right now are Oncology massage, Cranial sacral, and Lymph massage. And I have also been considering doing a yoga teacher training to further deepen my Thai massage understanding! Lets say it looks like I won't have any trouble being a life long learner, seeking new modalities and deeper knowledge to continue serving my clients better.

Come book a session and see if you can feel the difference from all that I have been busy learning!

I got Married!

To the most wonderful, kind, brilliant, and caring soul I know. Thank you Parker for being such a bright light in my world, and for so many, for being my calm and steady refuge, for reminding me to take it easy and lighten up, and for choosing to share you life with me! I couldn't be more excited to share this journey of life with this amazing man.

And went to Japan on my Honeymoon!

As many of you probably know, I am half Japanese. And my Grandma and Aunt still live in Japan. Getting to introduce Parker to the Japanese side of my heritage was such a treat! And this visit, the first in over three years, reminded me how Japan really is a part of me.

Above is a photo of us with one of the sacred deer of Nara hanging out outside the temple of one of the largest bronze Buddha statues in the world! We were honestly too busy having fun that I didn't actually post much on Instagram, BUT, there are three videos of Taiko drumming  that are totally worth checking out!
