Enrollment Information

• We offer simple online registration and in-person registration at your students zoned school if you cannot register online.
• Applying for Pre-K? Pre-K follows a different process.
• Find more information on the Pre-K application page.

Incoming Kindergartners

• All rising kindergarten students must register as a new student, even if they attended an MSCS Pre-K last year. Families can register online or in person at your students zoned school.
• Follow the steps in the NEW STUDENTS section below to begin the registration process.

EXISTING STUDENTS

Complete online registration in PowerSchool. Registration will need to be completed using a web browser as this functionality is unavailable in the app. The app version of PowerSchool cannot be used to register, apply for transfers, select learning options, or update information. For assistance, contact 901-416-6007 or your school.

NEW STUDENTS

Step 1: Submit all requested/required documents to the zoned/approved transfer school.

Step 2: A member of the registration/enrollment team will email you your PowerSchool account information.

Step 3: Complete online registration.

REGISTRATION CHECKLIST

• Two (2) approved proofs of residence
• Required immunizations
• Photo ID of parent/guardian
• Active PowerSchool account if student is new to MSCS

Summer Registration Support

To ensure a smooth transition for all families, we will offer registration and school choice assistance throughout the summer at various locations:

• All Summer School Sites: Our team will be available at all confirmed summer school locations (17 schools confirmed so far) from June 4th to June 7th to assist with registration and school choice.
• Summer Hub Locations: We will offer bilingual registration support, school choice guidance, and address any family inquiries at five conveniently located hubs from June 10th to July 26th. These hubs include:
  • Gaisman Community Center
  • Latino Memphis
  • Asha's Refuge
  • World Relief
  • Multi-National El Mercadito
  • Memphis Refugee Empowerment Program

Additional Summer Support Services:

• GEAR UP Day (July 30th): This district-wide registration event will take place on Tuesday, July 30th, from 8:00am to 2:00pm and 4:30 pm to 6:30pm at all schools. Staff will be available to provide in-person support with online registration and school choice guidance.
• Shelby County Juvenile Court: Registration and school choice assistance, along with addressing any family questions, will be provided from June 3rd to July 15th.
• Immunization and Registration Support: Combined immunization and registration support will be available at the Teaching and Learning Academy (TLA) on July 27th, August 3rd, and September 7th.
