October 2, MO Cowbell Race 

There are several alumnae running in the MO Cowbell race this Sunday. Come out and cheer them on! Full details can be found here http://www.mocowbellmarathon.com/

October 5, National Blues Museum

If you have not seen this new museum, this is your chance! Enjoy the many interactive exhibits, learn about how the Blues came to be, and recognize some of the great artists who created it. We are very fortunate to have this new state-of-the-art facility in our town.

October 16, President's Tea

October 19, Dinner Reception

This informal gathering is a fun opportunity to spend time with sisters of all ages (collegians from SLU and Wash U will be there, as well as alums), as well as a chance to meet and ask questions of our newly elected International President, Annabel Jones and NPC Delegate, Sandy Burba.  There will be casual finger food and an opportunity to see the amazing restoration of this historic St. Louis building.

 

There is no charge to attend, but to add a charitable note, we are helping BigBrothers/BigSisters provide needed items to a deserving mother and daughter. When you respond to Teri, she will share their wish list and we are sure you will be inspired to bring something for them.

October 20, Movie Night

Plans for this are tentative because exact movie  times and schedules are not availalbe yet for this date. This is simply a reminder to save the date and let Margaret Briscoe know if you are interested in attending, mgbriscoe@earthlink.net. 

 

October 22, Founders Day Walk/Run

Join us in Forest Park for the Founder’s Day Walk! All ages, fitness levels (run walk, jog), family, and friends welcome (even furry friends)! The course will be 4-miles, marked with Gamma Phi signs, but you can decide on your mileage as completion of all four miles is not required. Don’t want to walk? Partake by cheering on those participating. We hope to fill the park with Gamma Phi's on this day!

Please bring your own water, the Visitor Center will be open and has a water fountain for filling water bottles. A rain plan will be communicated 3 days prior to the event, if necessary.

8:30 -9:15: Create your own race bib - we will have a race bib template for you to write your name on and wear as you walk/run. Optional

Volunteers Needed for GOTR

Girls on the Run St. Louis has several volunteer opportunities available such as race T-shirt sorting, assisting with packet pickup, and much more. Please let Erin (stlgpbpres@gmail.com) know if you are interested and she will connect you with the appropriate GOTR contact. These are great ways to be involved with our philanthropic partner - no running involved and they only take an hour or two of your time!

Due October 10th! It's time to collect nominations for our awards that will be presented at Founder’s Day. See below for award nomination details. The Lumpp-Henderson Award- given to a woman that has made a significant impact on the St. Louis Alumnae-Collegiate Relations over the past years.

 

Love Labor, Learning and Loyalty Award- given to a woman that exemplifies what the phrase Love, Labor, Learning and Loyalty is all about and has contributed a significant amount of her time and talents to the St. Louis Alumnae chapter.

 

Limited Edition Necklaces

Limited Edition Necklaces will be on display at Founder's Day! Funds raised from these purchases will go toward the Phi scholarship budget (and is tax deductible for the buyer).  Minimum bid $75 each. Note: these necklaces are being advertised on the national level as many Phi members live out of the St. Louis reach.

Zeta Delta Sisters

Please consider attending initiation on November 11 in Cape Girardeau. The active sisters want to build better relationships with alumnae from the chapter. Intern Help

Deanna Heuring wants to help you complete your next Gamma Phi event, children's school party, work event, or other task with the help of the Special School District Vocational Skills Program Interns! According to Deanna, these interns are looking for projects to help them increase their skill sets- shuch as rolling and tagging fundraising shirts, and creating and printing bibs for the Founder's Day Run, and perforated raffle tickets for the race entries (three projects already completed by this group).  Depending on the size of the job, most can be completed in 2-3 business days!
