“It is good to love many things, for therein lies the true strength, and whosoever loves much performs much, and can accomplish much, and what is done in love is well done.”

― Vincent Van Gogh

hey there, !

As the sun sets on the month of August, I bring to you a quick little recap and a much needed catch-up. I sure hope this month has been kind to you. For me personally, it's been a whirlwind and a half. NESSART16 sort of took a big pause because of some life things, but we are back to work now. And I have got my gotta-cherish-'em moments from the past few weeks to share with you :)

In case you haven't been keeping up with my adventures on Instagram, i've embarked on a little journey through the 12-week course outlined in "The Artist's Way".

I'm currently cruising through week 4, and it's turning out to be quite the transformative ride.

This course has breathed new life into my creative spirit. I've noticed a remarkable shift in my energy, with ideas flowing more naturally than ever before. I'd been feeling a bit burnt out for a good chunk of the past six months. But now, I'm working from the inside out, diligently addressing those artistic roadblocks, and it's been nothing short of incredible.

Honestly, I can't sing the praises of this book loud enough hehehe

One really cool aspect of this journey is that it's prompted me to take myself on solo artist dates every week, as Julia Cameron (the author of the book) urges you to do.

Sure, there's a lot of anxiety involved, but the sense of pride and inner calm that follows is indescribable. Treating my inner artist to her favourite activities has been profoundly healing.

Thanks to this book, my sketchbook has become my best friend lately. I'm filling those pages faster than ever before. The beauty of it all is that there's no coercion or sense of obligation; my hands just dance across the paper, and it feels incredibly liberating.

Alright now, here's the fun part—I hope you don't mind me gushing a little more. "The Artist's Way" has encouraged me to explore other hobbies that ignite my creative spirit.

One of my latest pursuits is baking, and let me tell you, it's been an absolute joy. I've been diving deep into the world of baking, learning, reading, and soaking up every delightful aspect of it. i hope to turn this into a weekly habit, and i hope I'm able to treat my friends and family with treats i make myself.

Okay here's a little art-related tidbit for you. I had the incredible opportunity to visit a Van Gogh exhibit right here in my city. It was the Van Gogh 360 immersive experience. And, well, if you know me at all, you know I'm borderline obsessed with Van Gogh and his art. This exhibit was an emotional rollercoaster for me. I did not want to leave.

There was this inexplicable connection I felt with the art, surrounded by it on enormous screens, all four sides and below my feet. I felt like i was floating through his paintings. It was as if I became a part of the masterpiece, and i haven't felt that kind of peace and serenity in ages. It just reaffirmed my desire for a life filled with art.

With all these pockets of joy sprinkled throughout these weeks, I've been able to pour more of myself into the art I create. And what's even more exciting is that it's actually paying off.

i finally found the motivation to kick my procrastination to the curb and start working on my upcoming shop launch (shh, not everyone knows about this yet, hehe). I have been feeling so blocked with this, just staring at blank pages for hours trying to come up with projects i could create for my shop. but things are really changing slowly and i could not be more excited.

and that said, i am working to get this shop launch up as soon as i am able, and designing the items to put up has been such a thrilling experience. it just feels so lovely to be creating again :)

i hope you're finding time within your days or weeks to allow yourself to create. and i hope you're loving it.

Kay, that's all for now. Thank you for being here!

See ya soon! <3

lots of love,

ness
