[Newsletter] February: Focus On The Positive

Focus on the positive.

Don’t let the negativity bring you down.

This doesn’t mean we ignore the challenges or obstacles.

It means we work to overcome them.

Rise above the drama.

Don't listen to the lies of fear and doubt.

Choose to be a positive influence on those around us.

Life Is Good! Life is also too short to wake up in the morning with regrets, so love the people who treat you right, forgive the ones who don't and believe that everything happens for a reason. If you get the chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said it would be easy, they just promised it would be worth it! ~Dr. Seuss

The Good - The Bad - The Ugly - Is Good Again

Trust me, I'm no stranger to negativity and negative thinking. I'm also not naive in knowing there is some bad sh!t going on out there in the world. There was/is always bad sh!t out there. OK, sure, this pandemic (I despise the 'c' word, among the other 'c' words I can't stand) is the baddest and ugliest experience I've had. I know you can relate. Like it has completely disrupted plans, trips, gathering, like basically everything. It's jabbed me in various stages of worry. But here's what I know about worry >>>> worrying won't stop bad and ugly stuff from happening. It just stands in our way and stops us from enjoying the good. Read that again. Good things are out there every single day.

Like: the days are getting longer ... there are more birds singing every morning ... the snow is melting ... days are warming ... skies are brighter ... laughter & hope are filling the air. Spirits are are lifting ... new colours are on the horizon. I'm giddy thinking about all the even more good coming. I'm also savoring all the little goodies that are out there, in front of me, that I choose to hear and see. Worry free.

Introducing Deerdra

My cartoon-identity.

I am writing stories for kids (the both young and old kinda-kids!). My stories are based on my experiences, perspectives, and life's lessons; they include my family and friends. Of course, Deerdra has all the good and not-so-good qualities and gifts I have in my human life. Like me, Deerdra is energetic, witty, and creative. After all she's a deer!

Family Matters

Some family trees bear an enormous crop of nuts! The apple doesn't fall too far from the tree either. (It happens when you're a McIntosh!) These two adorable nuts are my parents. This is one of my fave pictures of us enjoying a good 'ol sunny day at Brady Lake. It's their happy place - home. Many laughs, good times, and millions of treasured memories have happened here; with many more to come! Families may get older but the moments to remember, well - they never age.
