A reminder as we enter the winter season, we will do our best to update members quickly in the event of a delayed opening or closing due to inclement weather. With salt on the roads and in our parking lot, we ask that you bring an extra pair of shoes to play. This will help us keep our indoor courts clean and in good condition. CLOSURE POLICY Member, visitor and staff safety is paramount. During times of inclement weather, the Binghamton Tennis Center will carefully monitor local weather conditions and make facility operation decisions accordingly. Any changes to normal hours of operation will be posted on our website and on the main phone line, 607-777-3491. We encourage all members to consistently and carefully monitor conditions and check in at the center regularly, particularly our early morning and late night players. |

We had a busy fall season as facility upgrades continued at the center. Dirt mountains have given way to the foundation of our nine (9) new outdoor hard surface courts, pictured above. When the project is completed in early spring, new fencing, windscreens, sidewalks and spectator areas will finish off this space. These courts will not only significantly add to the aesthetics of the outdoor area, but increase our programming availability. The outdoor pool area has been filled in for repurposing and indoor courts 1 and 2 will be repaired to meet NCAA requirements. Working with our Environmental Health and Safety team, a fire detection system as well as CO2 monitors are being installed as well as improving our emergency egress plan. As a campus dedicated to sustainability, we are conscious of reducing waste and conserving water. Preparations are underway for the installation of a new water filling station in the main lobby. Members and visitors will be able to fill up reusable containers with cold filtered water, on demand. If you haven't already, stop at the front desk for your free Binghamton Tennis Center water bottle! |

Playing tennis may contribute to your general health this winter! Physical activity may help flush bacteria out of the lungs and airways. Exercise moves immune system cells throughout the body during activity and promotes a lasting presence of these immune cells for up to three hours after exercise is completed. This provides extra time for the immune cells to identify unwanted intruders and keep you from getting sick. |
