Hi Everyone,
Happy March everyone! (sorry I know it is almost April)
From an arable harvesting point of view we have had the most amazing weather in our part of the country this March, it almost hit 30degs here last week! But from a livestock farming side of it we are starting to get desperate for rain. Most of Southland is in drought at the moment and we know how that feels from past experience.
A couple of weeks ago we harvested our Hemp crop and we are very pleased to tell you that it was a cracker crop! Harvesting it is a very stressful time around here. Not only is Hemp a crop that can be hard on equipment, drying it is another whole other stress level. We spread the harvest this year over 2 days to give us a chance to get it all dry, we did have the help of a grain dryer that Blair acquired a few years ago that is around 40yrs young. It worked like a charm and got the job done in no time at all, PHEW! It saved us a lot of shoveling in the drying trailer.
The rest of the crops on the farm have been harvested, even the tulips. Blair will now concentrate on getting crops back in the ground for next harvest (it really is like groundhog day) We also need to spend a few days in the Hempery pressing oil for you awesome people.
We are working on adding a couple of new product for you to try and also have some very exciting things coming up but you will have to wait just a little bit longer (not too much longer, I promise)
Thank you so much for your support!
Until next time, take care
Blair, Jody, Carly, Fletcher and Leah
