Galatea Technologies
CEP Calgary is excited to introduce our first sponsor, Galatea Technologies!
Galatea (GT) is a Calgary based tech company located in the beltline on 10th Avenue and 1st Street SW.
What role does GT play in Calgary’s sustainability space?
GT is the energy industry’s best technology platform to digitalize, optimize and automate transportation workflows – enabling businesses with the data and tools necessary to maximize operational, financial and environmental performance. GT enables users to find the optimal combination of receiving facility and transportation providers and offers insights that lower OPEX, quantify GHG emissions, and provide cradle to grave regulatory compliance.
“We’re inventing the future, there is no roadmap to follow.” - Chad Hayden, Tecknoking of GT.
What advice would you give environmental professionals entering the job market?
Connect and align your passions towards your goals; create your own seat at the table and then sit in it better than anyone has ever sat in that chair. How you find ways to contribute new ideas, identify tried and true patterns to adapt or challenge the status quo is up to you.
“People will do unreasonable things to come through - not for grand ideas or incentives or bosses or hierarchies, but for each other.” - Jim Collins
What makes working at Galatea unique?
At GT we’re different on purpose. We look at old institutions and their stale culture and it makes us want to scream a little. Our culture is meant to evolve and change as we grow so we don’t become weird and outdated. That’s why we will always continue working to ensure we remain relevant for our team, our industry, and our world. Humble, hungry, helpful and heedful. These core values function as our cloning machine and ensure everyone on the team has the key traits that make us Galateans.
How does GT contribute to sustainability?
We contribute towards sustainability by helping companies strategically manage their waste disposal workflows. At GT, we believe that the world will need hydrocarbons to power the transition to a more sustainable future. It’s our job to help energy producers quantify their performance and build a better tomorrow.
