SCROLLERS This month has been busy behind the scenes. The club was asked to help a local elementary school in Anchorage with cutouts of gingerbread men. There were several elves who helped get the job done. The children will be decorating them for Christmas. Speaking of Christmas, it was puzzle delivery month. All the cars and puzzles the club has been making were delivered to Alaska Regional Hospital, Alaska Native Hospital, Matsu Regional Hospital and The Special Santa program. Each organization received approximately 2 dozen toys/puzzles. These toys will be given to children for Christmas. If there are any left, they will be given to the children throughout the year. Santa stopped by and picked up toys that he will be personally delivering to the children at Providence Hospital along with a few extras to the Alaska Native Hospital. The club will be discussing the continuation of this program in January. The club meeting for December in Anchorage will be cancelled. There is an opportunity to scroll this month during a class offered by the woodworkers. The class will be held in the workshop in the AIH building. See the website for more information. There is no meeting scheduled for the valley group in December. Each club will be back in the swing for January. In January we will be holding elections. Everyone is invited to get involved. The Scrollers would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Ray Reynolds, President Dave Vasik Vice President Rhonda Hayhurst, Secretary |
