Those of you who were brave enough to travel during the school summer holidays – kudos to you all! As August concludes, I can wipe my sweaty and furrowed brow with a sense of achievement and satisfaction.
I’m happy to report that despite the industry’s ongoing challenges and the spiralling cost of living, there is no sign of a diminished desire to travel the world and explore pastures new. The most common feedback is that clients are keen to live the one life they have to the utmost - budget permitting of course!
The “feel-good” moments over recent months have been plentiful.
I have derived immense pleasure from hearing from several happy couples whose carefully constructed honeymoon plans had been on hold for so long and finally came to fruition.
My year of 'comfort travel' continues with a wonderful 50th birthday celebration in Marrakech before a long awaited reacquaintance with Mauritius beckons shortly.
My wonderful choir clients, Pop Voices, joined Duran Duran for the recent Commonwealth Games opening ceremony; I joined my local Scandi friends in the North Sea to celebrate midsummer; and as my tenure as current Travel Agent of the Year draws to a close, my fantastic colleagues at Holidaysplease and I continue to do our very best to show my husband Steve and his beloved Tottenham Hotspur how it's done, adding a fantastic new award to our expanding head office trophy cabinet.
Thank you as always for your amazing support which plays a big part in winning awards, and for all the kind comments on my social posts, as well as continuing to share my details with your families, friends and associates who may be needing an experienced personal travel agent.
I have loved meeting local clients to discuss forthcoming holiday plans and for those I don’t get to see as often in person, there are a few spaces left for my next online client event featuring my first exclusive escorted group tour and a very special guest.
Enjoy the rest of the summer sunshine wherever you may be.
