On January 13th, we inducted our incoming 2022 Board of Trustees at the Center for Health & Wellbeing with AIA Orlando. View photos of the event here. We welcome our officers into their new positions: Chair - Debra lemons, AIA Vice Chair - Jacki Hale, FAIA Treasurer - Mark Adams, AIA Secretary - Dean Hill, CSLA as well as incoming trustees Malcolm Jones, Assoc. AIA, Frank Bosworth, AIA, and Nathan Butler, FAIA. Thank you for your commitment; we look forward to an ambitious schedule of events this year and lots of continued growth! Rollins College Campus Walking Tour |

Please join the Orlando Foundation for Architecture hosting their FIRST walking tour of 2022 at Rollins College in Winter Park! Our tour guide will be Bruce Stephenson, Rollins faculty and author of “John Nolen, Landscape Architect and City Planner”. Bruce generously contributed the essay on Rollins College in our Architectural Guide to Central Florida. See a number of the historic buildings and learn the story behind the 1927 plan that created the vision we see embodied in the campus today. Repeatedly voted the most beautiful campus in the United States, its loggias and covered walkways link Neo-Renaissance and Mediterranean Revival buildings set on quadrangles and small courtyards to capture breezes. The campus contains Knowles Chapel by revered architect Ralph Adams Cram, and a number of buildings by Richard Kiehnel which demonstrate his desired execution of the campus plan he authored. You will get to see a few buildings by noted Winter Park architect James Gamble Rogers II and his firm RLF among others. Get your ticket quick, we only have 20 spots for this tour! Every year, UCF brings its best and brightest artists to Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts for a large-scale celebration of the things that make our world more interesting and beautiful. This year, UCF Celebrates the Arts is bigger than ever, with a multi-day production of an award-winning, family-friendly musical, concerts in the new Steinmetz Hall, lectures and discussions, multimedia events, chamber music, an expanded visual arts presence and more surprises to delight you. We are offering scholarships to students of the 2+2+2 Architectural Program as well as a scholarship by Black Architects in the Making for an incoming freshman of ANY architecture or associated design program in Florida. The Winter Park Voice writes "The Historic Preservation Board has brought forward its unanimous recommendation that the City of Winter Park add Winter Park City Hall to its Register of Historic Places. The Commission will vote on the resolution at the January 26 meeting. Readers are urged to let Commissioners know their thoughts by writing mayorandcommissioners@cityofwinterpark.org."
