ARE YOU READY FOR MAY GRAY?

WHAT WILL YOU DO TO RAISE AWARENESS?

April is a wonderful transitional month; spring is here, daylight hours last longer, and for many of us that extra sunshine feels so good. April happens to be my birthday month, so I get to make it all about me and what I want! 😁

This year for my birthday I am asking my friends, family, co-workers, and our brain tumor community to support someone our companions love very much. Here at Meningioma/ Brain Tumor Companion, we have begun to fundraise for one of our own, the amazing and inspirational Maki. She is a two-time cancer warrior and a 7-year survivor of a grade 4 glioblastoma. We have titled our efforts the May Gray Maki 5k Project. She truly is our GBM Rockstar, learn more of her story here.

So for my birthday this year, I want to help raise $10,000 by the end of May for the Ivy Brain Tumor Center. Many of our BTCompanions will attend the Head for the Cure 5k walk/run in Phoneix, AZ this October where together we will celebrate our team's total contribution to research in honor of Maki and her incredible fight! If you want to be a part of the May Gray Project, sign up to attend the event or donate today. Let's collectively make noise and support brain tumor research. We all want and need a better future managing this condition. We are #strongertogether. Donate now!

Thanks in advance for your support. I am grateful to be alive, and I look forward to spending quality time with my dear friends for my 46th birthday! I welcome another year of life, experience, and wisdom. The older I get, the more I realize how important each day is, so I truly do my best to make the most of all of the moments I am gifted. I hope you do the same!

Hugs & Happy Spring,

Angel

NEVER SKIP YOUR FOLLOW-UP CARE!

There is approximatly a 50% meningioma reoccurrence in first 20 years post craniotomy! A reminder of why follow-up care is so important. Read more!

Got Ink? Can't say I ever thought creating this logo would lead to a fad/ trend but here we are! This little symbol of companionship among the brain tumor community is making a statement. We have seven "inked" survivors who have come forward to share their love for our companionship. When I created this logo, I was inspired by togetherness, heart, and a sense of hollowness that connects us making us finally feel more whole again. Together we can wear this as our badge of honor; a true reminder that we are not alone! It is not as obvious as the cancer logo, it doesn't announce illness. It's our little secret until we share what it means. I am loving mine! Who's next?
