what's up?
This spring, because of fantastic Starter demand, we upped the number of start kits in the program from 300 to 400, translating directly into more free veggie starts for neighbors in need.
Now, in addition to sharing starts in May at Petaluma Family Resource Center at McDowell Elementary School, Salvation Army Petaluma Food Pantry and the West Side Interfaith Pantry at Elim Lutheran Church, we’ll be showing up at Una Vida’s free drive-through grocery market at Hillside Church in East Petaluma.
But it doesn’t end there! This spring we saw an uptake in new Starters from a wider area in Sonoma County. Home gardener volunteers in Petaluma were joined by committed volunteers in Cotati, Kenwood, Santa Rosa, Sebastopol and Windsor. Since getstarted is fundamentally a neighbor-to-neighbor program, we’re delighted to announce that we’re expanding the geographical reach of the program and will be heading up north to distribute starts at Elisha’s Pantry in Santa Rosa.
More Kits + More Starters = More Impact + More Reach
