Monster No More! An Interview With ASTA President-Elect, Loni Obluda I had the great pleasure of interviewing Loni Obluda this past month. The first question I had for her was perhaps the most superficial of all: where does your last name come from? She relayed that it is her married name and as best she could gather it emerged from her husband’s heritage by way of Czech influence. The actual definition of the name is at odds with Loni’s pleasant, upbeat demeanor because, as her students like to chide her, Obluda refers to a monster in folk stories! Needless to say, Loni is far from a monster as the rest of this interview will amply prove. Continue reading the rest of Philip Ficsor's interview with Loni here |
