KESKUS thanks Ambassador Toomas Lukk & Piret Lukk

Estonia's Ambassador to Canada, Toomas Lukk and his wife Piret Lukk, started their term in Canada in 2018 and immediately delighted in the vision that is KESKUS.  Throughout their time in Canada, they have championed the idea with their time, advice, and energy.  They received the first official invitation to the opening ceremonies of KESKUS.  Thank you, Toomas & Piret Lukk and all the best in your next posting!  Read more here, eesti keeles siin.

KESKUS construction update

Deep foundation construction resumed at the KESKUS site has now that the various trades have settled their contract negotiations.  The drilling of the soldier piles, micropiles and caissons requires considerable coordination with testing of the structural integrity of the piles undertaken throughout the process.  With limited ability to apply weight on the TTC subway tunnels that run underneath the site, the machines take turns as well. This continues Phase I of construction as discussed at the community engagement session on March 24, 2022, watch it here, or read a summary here, eesti keeles siin.

Deep foundation work returned to the KESKUS site now that the construction trades have settled their various strike negotiations.  The order in which the micropiles, soldier piles and caissons are drilled require careful coordination to ensure that weight on the TTC tunnels running the width of the site, remains within limits and that the testing of the structurally critical micropiles keeps pace with the work undertaken.  This is a continuation of Phase I of the 3 phases outlined at the most recent Community Engagement Session on March 24, 2022 - you can view it here, or read it here, eesti keeles siin.
