Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty."

John 6:35

Reflecting on Jesus’s words in John 6 about Him being the Bread of Life, the truth Jesus spoke to His disciples rings true for us today.  Jesus shared these words after He miraculously fed over 5000 people with 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish.  We tend to worry and put more weight on our physical needs than our spiritual needs.  Through faith in Jesus as our Savior, God promises that we will have life abundantly.  He promises to take care of us physically when we turn to Jesus and the Truth of His Word.

Legacy Christian Academy started simply as a call God placed on our hearts to meet a spiritual need for Christian families.  As we have sought after the Lord for our spiritual needs, He has abundantly provided for our physical needs.  We would like to share about some of the ways God has provided, both as a testimony to His faithfulness and to spur on your faith in the Father’s provision when you seek Him first.

Our School Building

Schools in our area have been looking for school buildings for years. God provided a beautiful campus and building to house Legacy Christian Academy. (Pictured above is a view of the newly resurfaced parking from the main entrance to our building.)

Our Teaching Staff

Our local public school district just posted a critical shortage of general classroom teachers. God provided highly qualified Jesus-loving teachers for Legacy, through prayer and word of mouth.

Carpeting

The majority of the carpet in our building was ruined, when told it would be around $10,000 to replace carpeting in 4 classrooms, God provided the expertise of Dave French with Kismet Flooring.  LCA was able to replace the carpet in 4 classrooms, the hallway and new baseboard in the entire building for less than half the original quote, which didn’t include the hallway.

Our Furniture

Another way God has abundantly blessed LCA is by providing most all of our basic classroom furniture, an expense of about $50,000 for under $600!  In March, we were able to purchase this furniture from Oceanside, CA via a public surplus auction.

This furniture will be available for us to pick up on Monday, June 13th between 8 am and 2 pm.  We know that God will provide a way to get this furniture from Oceanside to Legacy.  We hope to borrow a truck and trailer to pick up the furniture from Oceanside.  Please be praying for safety, provision and, of course, a window of lower gas prices for this trip. :-)

We are on target to open on September 6th for our first day of school!

As we approach this date, our needs have become more specific.  Again, we trust that God will provide everything we need to deliver a high-quality education that is grounded in a Biblical worldview.

That is why we are sharing our requests with you.

Just as the manna blessings the Father rained down from heaven were shared amongst His people; we look forward to how God will bring us together as He meets the spiritual needs in this young generation of Christians and their families.

Nevada Opportunity Scholarship

Legacy Christian Academy is committed to working with families individually to ensure that a Christian education is within their means.

We will be diligently seeking scholarship resources and funds for our families.  It is our hope to have both inside and outside scholarship funds available.  One outside funding resource that families can look into now is the Nevada Opportunity Scholarship.  This is a Nevada Scholarship Tax-Credit program.  While funds for this program go to current scholarship students first, it is expected that other funds will be available to new students.  This program funds on a first come basis.  LCA plans to register as an Opportunity Scholarship school.

If you have a passion for seeking out generous hearts for Christian education, we would love for you to join our in-house scholarship funding team!  Just send an email to: contact@lcanv.org or message us on Facebook @LegacyChristianAcademyNevada

What is the Value of a Kingdom Education?

By Dr. S. L. Sherrill

Education has been defined as “the process by which children and youth develop knowledge, skills, and character, especially through formal instruction, training, and study.” According to Webster’s Dictionary, philosophy is “a pursuit of wisdom; a search for truth through logical reasoning; an analysis of the grounds of and concepts expressing fundamental beliefs.” The Greeks defined philosophy as “the love and pursuit of knowledge and truth.” Adding Christianity, the indispensable ingredient, our philosophy of kingdom education is like an artist who steps back from his work to view the masterpiece in its entirety.

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
