Stress engineering / FEA consulting is a core capability that Orthotropic also offers as a standalone services: 

 

Following our 'fundamentals first' approach to structural engineering, we normally start with hand calculations to establish expectations before moving on to finite element analyses (FEA). For this we use the latest Nastran software, enabling us to streamline our workflows and efficiently perform and iterate complex analyses.  We offer the following types of simulation as required:-

  • Static stress analysis (linear and nonlinear)

  • Dynamic analysis

  • Elastic stability (buckling)

  • Modal analysis and frequency response

  • Heat transfer and thermal stress analysis
