During October, we completed our NWEA assessments and obtained baseline data. The data revealed that we have several gifted and highly gifted students, many students at grade level and some students below and far below grade level. We are encouraged that we are and remain a school that serves all students and our demographics and data reflect this. Teachers and administrators are working hard to close gaps through personalized tutoring offered by Crete staff, School on Wheels, Tapestry Church and individual volunteers. We also celebrated Halloween with a drive-thru for students. Big Sunday donated Halloween costumes and Westside Ministries donated pumpkins, while Crete parents provided candy for the Trunk-or-Treat event. Even with a pandemic at large, we made Halloween special. |

Thanksgiving at Crete! Our Thanksgiving drive-thru was sponsored by: Tapestry Church LA, Formosa Group, Stephen Jackson, Chick-Fil-A, Venice Ball, and Snap Inc. Together, these folks made Thanksgiving unforgettable! We also received 50 turkeys from the LAPD's 77th Division to give out to families, and a catered meal provided by Earle's Restaurant for 150 students and families. To top it all off, Tapestry Church LA filled an entire Uhaul truck with food to help us establish our own Food Pantry at Crete. They also gifted us $4,000 in grocery gift cards for our families. |

Crete Core Values Every two months students learn a new Crete Core Value and work to understand and embody the characteristic. For October and November, we focused on the Core Value: responsibility.
