Can you help?
I have written six books and last year had the pleasure of rewriting and renewing the last book “DO Birth”. This year I have rewritten my first book “SENSITIVE MIDWIFERY” which was published by Heinemann in 1986.
I have had the really enjoyable company of Deborah Hughes as Editor (and contributor) who has changed, tidied up, updated, improved and in every way made better, the original. Helen Chown, has as usual, illustrated the book. Her sweet and clever illustrations humanise the words, make them more interesting and highlight the emotions. It has been a lovely and fun filled journey.
The book is coming out on August 21st. (Why that date? It’s Giles and my 60th wedding anniversary). Before then I would like to send some Kindle editions for people to review. Could you be one of the people who will review the book?
If you are willing please send your email address to caroline.midwife@gmail.com and I will send you the Kindle version free.
Here is the summary of the book
SENSITIVE MIDWIFERY (second edition) by Caroline Flint
When "Sensitive Midwifery" was first published in 1986 it quickly became a Classic. A handbook of practical advice and support for midwives caring for women through one of the most significant episodes of their lives. This new and enlarged edition gives even more practical advice for today's midwife, student midwife and birthkeeper, but it also explores the ethical and moral dilemmas that face today's practitioner.
The delightful illustrations by Helen Chown keep the book fascinating, fun and easy to read, and the input and wise editing of Deborah Hughes add great depth to what will become essential reading for every midwife. Lots of practical advice from positions in labour, to breastfeeding, to setting up support groups for women, midwives and families.
Born out of a total of nearly a century of midwifery practice, this book charts the way through the moral dilemmas and difficulties which face today's midwife (and obstetrician) and has been used by medical students to learn how to suture and how to perform a caesarean section and at the same time how to care for women gently and sensitively. Buy this book for your favourite midwife or medical student.
