The Cans Have Arrived.

We have a few fun updates for y'all this month, but first look at this beautiful can! We're just a little bit excited about it...

Beer Updates

We only have one new beer on tap since our last newsletter, but it's a big one! Our second annual TPK Triple IPA collaboration with Varietal Brewing up in Sunnyside, WA, is a smooth 10.5% with Chinook, Simcoe & Citra Cryohops for a punch of grapefruit zest and resin. Our supply is limited, but we're currently still pouring half pours as of this email and also have cans to go. Get those death saves ready!

Fresh batches of our TPK IPA, Bard's Tale Pale Ale, and The Ashbringer Stout will be hitting the bar soon, along with our first fruited Improvised Weapon! If you haven't gotten the chance to try it yet, Improvised Weapon is our American Wheat and is named for when an enemy's barreling down on you and you just have to grab whatever's at hand. Guava might not be your first choice in a fight, but when you have 200 pounds of it you can probably rig up something pretty deadly (or just make it into a delicious beer like we did!)

And it might not be the flashiest update, but we really are so stoked to have crowlers (32oz cans) available for you. We get asked for cans to go constantly and we can finally say yes! Any house beer is fair game, although we just canned the rest of the TPK IPA yesterday to make room for the next batch and will have those at a discount until they run out. A huge thank you to Alejandra Gutierrez for the can art and Leikam Brewing for letting us borrow their can seamer!

Welcome, Calcifer

We have a couple quick updates on the space before we get into events and the first is that our oven has a name! Thank you to all of you who submitted names throughout our beer spiking event and voted for the finalists on social media: she is officially Calcifer. She's been slow to come back to life as we've worked out some logistical issues to avoid filling the space with smoke, but we think we've got it and she'll be back in full operation shortly. Oh, and we'll definitely be doing another spiking event soon! It was such a blast and we absolutely agree with you that one day a year isn't enough.

We're also adjusting our table rental policy, for those of you looking to reserve a gaming table through our website. Previously the rental fee became a credit against your tab, but try as we might we cannot link that credit to orders made directly at the table (the most common way to order while gaming) so it's just ended up too confusing on both sides of the bar. Moving forward, instead of a credit against your tab, you'll receive a coupon for 100% off your next table rental when you check in. We hope this keeps the spirit of the policy (we don't want to charge a table fee, but we do want to incentivize folks to keep their bookings) but streamlines the actual reservation process.

Let's Hang!

  • Monday 2/19 - Musicale Monday is back and we'll have live tavern music from Charlie Laumaker, Jacob Whitaker, Tinker Tailors, Karyn Ann, and Jen Forti starting at 6 PM in the main room. But wait, there's more! This will also be our first ever open painting night upstairs, so bring a miniature to paint and let the dulcet tavern tunes waft over you.

  • Saturday 2/24 - CHILI CON VI: Critical Bowl at Uptown Beer Co! We'll be partnering with En Vida on a chili-beer pairing, you can grab a ticket here, and help us be crowned the 2024 Champion of Chili!

  • Monday 2/26 - FWD RPG PDX is back with their monthly takeover of free, non-D&D roleplaying games. This round is horror themed, but signups go fast so we'd recommend RSVPing soon.

  • Sunday 3/10 - The 9th Annual SheBrew Festival is back at The Redd on Salmon and we'll be bringing down Improvised Weapon - Guava. Come help us celebrate the work of female-identified purveyors of beers and ciders at one of our fav fests of the year!

This weather has been very confusing, but we hope to catch you on our little front patio soon!
