Celebrate Black History Month with YCL

George Washington Carver and Friends:
Black History heroes like George Washington Carver, the incredible scientist who invented thousands of uses for the lowly peanut, laid the groundwork for some of the most amazing discoveries of the modern era. In this show by Bright Star Theater, you'll meet other remarkable scientists, entrepreneurs, and groundbreakers from Black History, including Madam C.J. Walker, Jackie Robinson, Thurgood Marshall, and more!

This virtual performance will be available to view online until February 28 and is best appreciated by pre-K to 5th grade and family audiences. For more about Bright Star Theatre, visit their website at brightstartheatre.com.

Black History Trivia Quiz: Pick up a Black History Trivia Quiz at any YCL location starting February 2, complete it, and return it by February 28. We'll notify the winner the week of March 7 to receive a $25 Books-A-Million gift card! See the Events Calendar for full details and contest rules.

New Look for Main Library

Thanks to York County Funding, the Main Library in Rock Hill got a long-awaited makeover in January for its reference, genealogy, and young adult departments. Among the many improvements were new furniture, reference desks, shelves, computer desks for staff, and carpet. We're excited that the second floor has now reopened to the public, so please stop by and check it out!

Thank You for Participating in the Winter Reading Challenge!

It's been a "Totally Cool" Winter again! Thanks for another great Winter Reading Challenge and for helping to earn the library a chance to win book collections, autographed books, and virtual author visits. Don't forget to pick up your prize if you met your reading requirements, and look for more reading challenges to be announced soon!

Get Help: Resources for Tax Forms and Preparation

The IRS has provided York County Library with limited 1040 and 1040-SR tax forms, Schedules 1–3, and instructions. Visit our Tax Resources page or our Tax Help Flyer for an overview of tax resources and more, including where to find free local assistance from AARP, SC Thrive, and VITA.
