Suspension of Classes!

Welcome to New Subscribers

Thank you for subscribing to my newsletter.  This is the best place to find out about upcoming new classes and events held at the Cadet Training Centre.  You will also get information about local quilt exhibitions, shows and groups to inspire you.  If you know of something that you would like to have included in the next newsletter please email me the details for consideration.

Included in this issue are - Suspension of Classes ..

All Classes have now been Suspended

I am writing to let you know that given the current status of the Covid-19 pandemic I have taken the proactive and responsible decision to suspend all classes with immediate effect until June 2020.

Why have I made this decision?

In making this decision I am following the latest government advice regarding restricting unnecessary social contact for the next 12 weeks in order to try and prevent the transmission of the virus.  Especially for those people that fall into the defined vulnerable groups.

Everyone is being encouraged to work from home wherever possible and this is something we can support by sewing at home instead of coming to class.

I will obviously continue to monitor the situation closely and if a longer period of suspension becomes necessary then I will write to you again with further details.  Conversely if the situation improves more rapidly than predicted and classes can be reopened sooner than anticipated, then again, I will let you know.

How will your course be affected?

I will be writing to everyone individually over the coming days to give you specific details for the course(s) that you are currently undertaking, including relevant payment information.

In general terms, the principles I will be applying include, but are not limited to:

  • Deferring start dates for new courses
  • Providing information by email to enable sewing at home
  • Notifying replacement dates for missed classes
  • Extending the schedule of course dates
  • Cancelling a class and restructuring the course schedule
  • Providing free catch up sessions

Will there be any support available during the closure period?

I am committed to keeping in touch during this time as I know that it isn’t going to be easy for any of us.

Margaret, Denise and I will be continuing to undertake some work at home and will be available at specified times to provide support and guidance to the best of our ability.  Details of how to contact us during the suspension period will be included in your individual letter.

Jayne will also continue to issue regular newsletters and you should look out for them as they will contain general and specific information as the situation progresses.  If you have any suggestions for topics to be included over the coming weeks please email me your ideas.

Finally

I can assure you that I haven’t taken this decision lightly as I know many of you will be disappointed not to be in class, but I believe it is in all our interests to take this approach at this time.

I look forward to seeing you all in class again in the near future so take care of yourselves
