President's Message

Join us for lunch and a fabulous program. The Apple Blossom Festival is right around the corner, April 28th - May 8th. Our special guests will be the 2022 Apple Blossom Royalty. We will meet Queen Rianne and Princesses Ainsley & Presley. The Apple Blossom Musical this year is the Wizard of Oz. There will be a drawing for 2 sets of 2 tickets to the Wizard of Oz for the May 13th performance. The seats are excellent.

Our other special guests have also been invited: local state legislators and WSSRA's president, Bruce Boyer, will join us. There are various opportunities for CDSRA members. Come join us for lunch, help with Connections, support the Grace House, be a delegate at the WSSRA State Convention, find out how we support the Wenatchee Valley Museum & Cultural Center & the Cashmere Museum and Pioneer Village, and EKAP at the Numerica PAC (and more)! If you have questions - please email: cdsraprez@gmail.com.

Legislative Update

Good news from the Legislature! Legislators passed legislation for a Plan 1 COLA to take effect this summer. Therefore, retirees in Plans 1, 2, and 3 will receive an increase of up to 3% this July.

The final budget included the $183 monthly Medicare Eligible Healthcare Benefit. School retirees will be able to substitute in classified and certified positions - excluding central administrative positions - for an additional 21 days or 173 hours. The new law will be in effect through the year 2025.

Please come to our April Meeting to tell our Legislators: THANK YOU!

If you have any questions, please contact our CDSRA Legislative Representatives:

Denise Perkins 509-884-8587 or Mary Perkins 509-884-7671

It's time to join the WSSRA Political Action Committee!

Our legislators from both sides of the aisle have been very supportive of our bills this session. Many of them will face HEAVY competition for their legislative seats in the November election. We plan to lobby for a permanent Plan 1 COLA and we need them to help us. Remember we support candidates:

  • From both political parties
  • From all areas of the state
  • Who believe in protecting and increasing our earned pension benefits.

Addressed envelopes, stamps and forms will be provided and your sealed envelope will be your ticket to enter our drawing. If you'd rather donate via credit card, we can help you with that also.
