In this month's newsletter, you can check out our upcoming May events and read a round up of April in the IWA. Our members are very important to us and, as always, we want to express our deepest gratitude to each and every one of you who have supported the IWA in 2023 and who continue to do so in 2024. At the IWA, we always welcome guests to join us for our events and activities. However, please note that seating may be limited and priority will be given to our members. We greatly value and appreciate the support of our members and their spouses, as they play a significant role in making the IWA possible. Therefore, it is beneficial to register early for our events. Remember, spouses are entitled to member prices. |

Important announcement The IWA Annual General Meeting 2024 With the AGM going ahead on 26th June 2024 the current committee would like to invite everyone to consider becoming part of our new committee. Members of the volunteer committee generously invest their time and resources to organise engaging experiences for our members. Feedback is invaluable and we encourage constructive feedback so that we can foster improvement for our future activities. We are therefore looking for volunteers to help in various capacities. Please bring your particular expertise and we can work together as a team to go forward with the Association. Previous experience is not necessary but a good sense of humour would help! If you are able to attend the coffee morning on Wednesday 15th May, you will be able to meet some current members of the committee and talk to them about what is involved. The tasks are not onerous so long as they are spread between the many volunteers. You do not need to be on the committee to suggest or contribute to the activities – some people have suggested talks, outings, walks, ‘Meet the Author’ and other events. We do have some exciting events coming up in the future, so please help our IWA flourish and encourage new members. Many thanks, from your IWA. The AGM 2024 will now be held on Wednesday 26th June 2024, in the IWA Clubhouse, 17 Lorong Lembah Permai 3, Tanjung Bungah, Penang. |

Coffee morning with guest speaker Wednesday 15th May 2024
VENUE : The IWA clubhouse
Speaker: Tahira Amir Khan Both a visionary and a futurist, Tahira created The New Human project to enable participants to discover their Higher Purpose, and tap on to their higher intelligence. Formerly the president of the Mobile Alliance of Singapore, she is also actively involved in the development of New Future Human sustainable EcoSocieties in Italy, South Africa, Uganda, India, and Kenya. Tahira is the author of the award-winning book "Through The Golden Door" and she will explain the science behind this. |

Report on April activities |

With so many people being away on holiday at the moment, April was not as full of activities as normal. We had the usual Mums and Toddlers group getting together on Mondays and the Tuesday Mah-jong games re-started at the clubhouse. It was great to see quite a few attendees at Mah-jong, with more wanting to join up when they return from their holidays. The Friday afternoon card and Mah-jong sessions are proving popular and are generating more interest. Anyone wishing to join either of the Mah-jong days, please feel free to contact us. We welcome learners as well as experienced players. We did have the resin workshops pencilled in but unfortunately, due to an oversight, the April calendar wasn’t published in time, although it had been completed. The month was rounded off very nicely with a delicious meal at Cueva @ Gurney Walk organised by Vivien Yap, who did an amazing job. We had 25 guests who enjoyed meeting up with one another at a venue many of us had never visited. |
