PLEASE make sure you're loading this entire edition of The Herald! Depending on your device, The Herald may be getting "clipped" and not fully loading. The very last things you should see are the P.O. Box address and "Visit the Website" link at the bottom. If you're not seeing this, there are two things you can try. At the very top of the Herald, click on the option to View in a Browser. If that doesn't work, look for "View Entire Message" where it looks to be the end/bottom of The Herald. You should be able to click and load the rest of The Herald. Hopefully this helps some of our members, who haven't been able to hear about all of the awesome things that the Matlacha Hookers have going on! |

Kudos to the Island Luau Basket making team! The following members worked behind the scenes to bring you forty-two baskets to bid on at the silent auction. Their role was to either fill a basket from items donated, or add gift certificates to existing baskets, record what was in each basket then wrap and add a bow. Watching these ladies create these gorgeous baskets was inspiring. We had seasoned basket makers collaborating with new members and teaching them how to build a basket. While the basket process was underway, members made new friends. Great to see! The baskets alone raised $5,754.00! Thank you to Joyce Boyer, Chris Buntin, Christine Creecy, Sherri Davis, Sandy Kerr, Vicki Janda, Anita Jannotti, Tammey Lynch, Marilyn Langefeld, Vicki Piatt, Maria Sostre, Anna VanKirk, and Carol Zaremba. Matlacha Hookers Mixer at Art Walk on April 5! |
Our new and upcoming scholarship fundraiser is the River District Alliance Art Walk in Fort Myers! Kelly Lamagna, Joyce Boyer, Theresa Kramer, and Lorie Tidwell are quad-chairing this new event. The event takes place the first Friday of every month, 5- 9 pm. The Matlacha Hookers have committed to staffing the beverage tent for 5 months: June 7, July 5, August 2, September 6, and October 4. The four of us, plus Madam LindaBo, are attending the next Art Walk event on Friday, April 5th, 5- 9 pm. We'd love to have anyone else (members, spouses, friends, etc) join us! We want to check out the event to get a feel for the setting, parking, other vendors, and crowd attending. It should be a fun and rewarding new fundraiser for the Matlacha Hookers! We hope to see many of you on April 5th! To learn more about the event, go to myriverdistrict.com. Questions? Contact Lorie 202-294-4901 |
