Hello, Art and Design Friends!Isn't it a joy to fully embrace all that summer has to offer, to live in the present, and to savor the sun's warmth and the season's bounty? There are times when I find myself yearning for a change—a cooler afternoon, a respite from the heat, or simply a shift from the present moment to something else. It's a challenge to stay fully present on such days, isn't it? While being fully engaged in the present moment is important, I can't help but feel a surge of excitement when I think about the upcoming seasons that I love so much. Here's to celebrating the joy of the present moment and the anticipation of beauty to come. Warmly, Cindy P.S. Seasons My favorite season is autumn. I love the cozy embrace of a fleece vest, our annual September forages for mountain mushrooms, and the brilliant display of fall colors. Although summer is currently in full swing, it felt like a breath of fresh air to paint this canvas, with the anticipation of fall's seasonal crispness and beauty just around the corner. But first... let's spend a little more time soaking in the sun at Lake Nighthorse or on the Animas River! |

Juniper School It's hard to believe it's nearly back-to-school season! I have always loved the promise of a new school year, the smell of pink erasers, and the crispness of a freshly sharpened pencil. Durango is fortunate to have several remarkable charter school options. The Juniper School is a perfect example. Three years ago, they wished for a brand enhancement for an enrollment campaign. I used the silhouette concept of their existing logo to create a dynamic, joyful marketing project to promote their school. |

Rosaleen's Green Chile Stacked Chicken Enchiladas Want a little comfort food? This recipe is the ticket. When green chile season rolls around, the aroma of roasting chiles fills the air from every farmer's market stand and grocery store. We freeze a bushel of this gold every year, but we only have three packages left, so chile season is highly anticipated this year! Stacked Chicken Enchiladas have it all—creamy, cheesy, spicy, savory home-spun goodness. My friend Rosaleen made this dish for my boys at their home years ago, and my kids have been asking for it on a regular basis ever since. Did you know Rosaleen and Charlie's son, Riley Amos, will compete in OLYMPIC mountain biking on Monday at 6am MST?! We're beyond proud of our friends and will be cheering them on, along with our whole town (and country)! GO USA!!! 🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸 | | |
