Hope you rang in the New Year celebrating yourself!

Speaking of celebrations and parties, my party train usually starts from Navaratri, hiding the slightly excess baggage inside my sari drapes, enjoying sweets and savories required of the tradition, quite confident of losing any pounds that I might add on by fasting or walking. The train then makes a stop at Diwali and the party goes full throttle. One of the many times that I've wondered if there really is a second stomach for dessert!

Slowly, laden heavy with evident excess baggage and guilt, the train begins to chug towards Thanksgiving.  Feeling distressed, but not so much, I look forward to gobbling the very decadent pecan pies I could lay my hands on.

After all, that's the only time of the year that I will and can have pies, or so I tell myself. And then comes the holiday season, invitations overloaded with sugar and cinnamon anywhere and everywhere, mesmerized by the carols of Mr. Buble`, I enjoy the holiday's choicest treats with complete abandon!

In case you're wondering, there's no wisdom to my narrative, only an account of human fallibility that we all can relate to. That said, I always look forward to the New Year because I get to start afresh putting my best foot forward.

I remind myself of

Yoga Sutra 1.1 - Atha Yoganusasanam, meaning - Now is the exposition of Yoga. Wherever I am in my life, all I need to do is to tap into the present moment where Yoga happens. Yoga as in the union of mind, body and breath.

You are the Universe

expressing itself as a human for a little while.

 -Eckhart Tolle

To begin to understand the secrets of the universe in our human form, it helps to understand the energy centers in our body called chakra or Wheels of Life.

Please join me at Rescue Yoga in Carrollton for an 8-week series (in-person and online), as we explore the chakra through asana and pranayama, so that we can effectively tune up these energy wheels for a pleasant travel.
