CORONATION ORDER OF SERVICE

Please find here the Order of Service for the Coronation - you may like to download it so that you can partake more fully in this historic event and act of worship. At the time of Holy Communion, you may like to make an act of Spiritual Communion using the following prayer:

My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love you above all things, and desire to receive you into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive you sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace you as if you were already there and unite myself wholly to you. Never permit me to be separated from you. Amen.

Today in the Gospel we hear the beginning of the farewell discourses - a series of sayings and speeches made by Jesus to his disciples as he prepared them for his ascension and the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. Jesus tells us that he is ‘the way, the truth and the life’ and also of his relationship with God the Father - ‘I am in the Father and the Father is in me’ – an idea for us to contemplate rather than rationalise!

CORONATION SUNDAY As part of this historic weekend, we shall offer the Eucharist today for His Majesty The King and after Mass we will have a celebratory light lunch and drinks, including a toast to The King’s Majesty. Many thanks to Emma, Maria, Clare, Nicky and Tasha who have arranged the celebration, and to everyone who has generously contributed.

CHORAL EVENSONG FOR THE KING will be sung at 6.30pm this evening in St Peter’s Aldborough Hatch by the St Alban’s Singers. Drinks and nibbles will be served after the service.

ILFORD COMMUNITY GROCERY for £5 a year anyone can fill their grocery basket twice a week for £4 each time at City Gates, 25-29 Clements Road, between 9.30 and 4.30 Monday-Friday. The quality of the food available is very good and free support courses are on offer at the same venue. Details at communitygrocery.org.uk/ilford or from 020 3422 6511. There are flyers at the back of church.

REGULAR GIVING Giving to fund the ministry of the Church is an essential part of our Christian faith. We are struggling, so, please, if you don’t already, consider giving a regular amount. No amount is too small. Using our parish giving plan is easy and you are in full control (and Margaret Quinney will be pleased to help you if needed). For one-off donations please use the card machine at the back of church or the offering plate for cash.
