Feeling Good at Leaders2Give
One of the Leaders2Give partners I feel particularly connected to and one that holds a special place in my heart is New Creation Kids. It was the sole and original partner when Leaders2Give was established in 2019. I, personally, remain humble at the numerous donors each month who give so generously, and that Leaders2Give has such an important role to ensure responsible financial sustainment to cover their basic needs.
Since the actual cost of running this facility and caring for all of the kids there far exceeds the budget allocated by Leaders2Give, it's even more special for me to help them when I'm in Mexico. I love taking people there with me too! It's one of the highlights of our trip! Of course, the last trip back in March/April was no different. We took the Cartlidge clan there one Saturday (13 of us) and eight gal pals the following Saturday. It was as meaningful to me then as it was some 5 years ago when I visited there the first time.
I'm not alone either.
I am grateful that Team Humanity Baja, led by mi amiga Jo Dibblee, also has a soft spot for these kids. Last month her team was instrumental in raising the funds for a new building to be constructed there; a home for Roberto and Alma (including a dedicated office space). Team Humanity also raised enough money to purchase a commercial washing machine; and, they are working on raising money to buy a new van.
When Adam & Jo connected last month, a shared interest in consistent water delivery was discussed. We saw the need for this first hand when the Cartlidge family, who visited New Creation Kids in March. We witnessed empty pilas, which were empty for some time. Thirteen of us collectively pooled some pesos to help get much needed water to them.
Adam & Ian (Leader2Give's Treasurer) have also authorized consistent and consecutive bi-weekly water deliveries going forward. Woot Woot!
It sure does take a village of people and partners to do good and feel good!
