Radiation Therapist

A Radiation Therapist is a medical professional who specializes in providing individualized treatment plans to patients with cancer and tumors. They work alongside oncology teams, utilizing medical imaging equipment and delivering radiotherapy treatments to shrink or remove cancer cells in the patient’s body. Their responsibilities include developing personalized treatment plans, administering radiation therapies, monitoring patients’ progress, and providing support to patients and their families throughout the treatment process. They also assess patients’ reactions to treatments and provide advice and methods of alleviating the side effects of treatments. They perform quality assurance tests on simulation and treatment machines to ensure they are in working order. Their goal is to ensure effective and safe delivery of radiation therapy to help combat cancer and improve patients’ well-being.
