The music from the collaborative installation, book and EP I made with Crewdson, Jessica Glover and Ludic Rooms has been nominated for the Classical Awards' Sonic Art category.
I loved this project, and I'm so grateful to Ludic Rooms for commissioning me and Crewdson, and introducing us to Jess, to the printers Secret Knock, and to the Coventry canal. It was wonderful to be able to release the EP through Accidental Editions with the title track mixed but Matthew Herbert.
We had a great time at Moseley Folk & Arts Festival last month. It felt particularly special to be able to bring the songs back to the Midlands, home to the waterways that inspired our work.
I have now completely sold out of my BRACE CDs, thanks to their enthusiastic merch team.
I'll be heading to the BFI for the The Ivors Classical Awards (judged and presented by The Ivors Academy) on the 14th November.
The limited run of books are available from Bandcamp. They make a sweet gift for just £6, as they have poetic instructions for crossing any body of water. Plus the illustrations animate through augmented reality, and the original locations of each rite in Coventry can be traced via 'what3words'.
You may have seen this in my last email, but in case you'd like to know more about what is behind my interest in poetic text instructions, I am still very chuffed to have been published by SoAnyway. Scroll down for 'Instruction as Rite and Lore'.
