What's New We're watching the COVID-19 updates closely while continuing our renovation progress, and we tell you about our House Wines. |
Covid-19 Update As of right now, Minnesota wineries are considered to be in the same category as restaurants and bars. On June 1, these types of businesses can open with limited outdoor seating only. Indoor seating will be phased in in the future. Currently our goal is to be open in July. We don't know what opening will look like by then, but we are working on establishing policies and procedures to keep our staff and customers safe once we open. The City of Jordan is allowing businesses to create or expand their outdoor seating areas while the social distancing order is in place, so we'll be able to expand our patio seating temporarily to accommodate a greater distance between tables. |
Our Progress It seems like we're on the home stretch of the renovations, and yet there are so many things left to finish. The new doors have been installed (no more plywood - yay!). Micah has been working on finishing the walls, floors, and tasting bar, and Josie has been ordering equipment and supplies that we'll need to begin making wine. |
Outside, we're waiting to get the concrete patio poured, and then we can finish the landscaping and gardening. The electricians will be out next week to install the light fixtures, and our muralist is going to be painting the wall mural soon! Take a virtual tour of the winery with Josie in the video below! |

About Our Wines: House Wines Even though we will be specializing in bubbly wines, we do plan to offer still wines for those who prefer a non-bubbly option. Our House Red, House White, and House Rosé will be easy-drinking, approachable wines meant to be enjoyed with food, and affordable enough to be consumed on a regular basis. We plan to offer them on tap in the tasting room to be enjoyed by the glass or carafe, and by the bottle to take home. Each wine will be a blend of that year's available grapes, so each year the flavors might change slightly. |

Part of the vision for Mousse is to be the neighborhood winery where you can grab a glass of wine with your neighbor after work, and get a carafe filled with your favorite wine to take home with you to enjoy with dinner. Our philosophy is that wine should be approachable and affordable; a beverage to enhance your weeknight dining experience. A glass of red wine with spaghetti and meatballs, a glass of white with a summer salad, or a mimosa with french toast on Sunday morning enhances the enjoyment of the food and makes an ordinary meal just a bit more extraordinary. Wine enjoyed in moderation and mindfully paired with the food you eat, helps to make life a little fuller. This is not to say that we don't believe that there should be exceptional wines meant for special occasions. Of course we love to pop a superior bottle of wine for special events. We just don't think that every wine should be seen as too precious to enjoy during normal life. Cheers! |
