It's officially Fall in Central Oregon. The weather is shifting and it seems like the real estate market is as well. Although statistics still reflect a strong sales volume, compared to other years, things do seem to be slowing down from the frantic buying season of the Summer months. Days on market continue to rise and price reductions are more prevalent, especially in higher price points or with less desirable properties/areas. It could be a mix of seasonal swing and buyer fatigue, but the scale has started tipping back towards normalcy. Persistent Buyers are being presented with much better inventory that they can afford and also have a shot at negotiations. Sellers are continuing to take advantage of the low inventory, but they may be looking at a short window to hop in as the colder weather comes through.
