"Someday I'll look back and say, "I blinked and they were grown". So, I hope to also say, "But I saw it all. I soaked it in. I was there for it. And it was great." -Author Unknown
I recently read a quote that said, "Time is non-refundable. Use it with intention." As simple as it read, it profoundly affected me. You'll often hear me tell my kids to do everything with purpose. For example, my son loves to play soccer, though using the word "play" is a bit of a stretch. He may not be the best player on the field, but he is the most enthusiastic...at cheering his teammates, finding three leaf clovers, or trying out a new ninja move. I remember trying to get him to pay attention to the action on the field and finally yelling, "Luca! Run with purpose!" Haha!!
Purpose. Intention. Time.
Ultimately, I'm grateful beyond measure for the moments spent watching my children play, grow, thrive, and excel in all the things they love. Just within this past week, I will forever cherish our dance parties in an In & Out Drive-thru, hiking to watch a sunset, playing tag up and down the streets of our neighborhood, laughing in the grass in our front yard as we star gazed, and saying prayers together as they fell asleep. Life is ever-changing and doesn't always go the way we expect; however, I hope to be and live, in the present moments and be purposeful with the time given; it is something I never intend to take for granted.
