CITY OF ANNAPOLIS PRIMARY ELECTION TOMORROW, SEPT 21ST! |
I wish to remind you that we are now in the midst of a very important primary election--the election at the Ward 3 poll location being tomorrow, Tuesday, September 21, 2021. As your Alderwoman, I have enjoyed working tirelessly for our entire Ward and City, and I hope to continue to do so. I can’t think of a situation in which you have brought a matter to my attention where I haven’t responded appropriately and in a timely manner. If I haven’t, then please let me know. I also consistently keep you informed. With that being said, I am asking for your vote. You have already received your actual ballot in the mail. This is your actual ballot. You can drop it in the drop box at Mt. Olive’s Life Center, 2 Hicks Avenue, at any time between now/today and tomorrow, Tuesday, September 21, no later than 8 p.m. OR you can come to the poll location at Mt. Olive on tomorrow, Tuesday, September 21 no later than 8 p.m. Unlike past elections, I have an aggressive opponent this time. You have seen his campaign signs all around. Don’t be confused! Again, I am asking for your vote. Vote for Rhonda. Thank you. And God Bless you all. By authority, Marvin Charles, Treasurer |

DEDICATION OF THE WARD 3 TAXI CAB MURAL September 20th, 4:00pm |
The City of Annapolis will dedicate a new mural on the side of the Samuel L. Gilmer Department of Transportation headquarters in Parole, 308 Chinquapin Round Road at 4 p.m. on Monday, September 20, 2021. The public is invited to attend the dedication. The mural honors more than 60 Annapolis individuals, (men and women) for “taking us in the right direction.” The mural was created and painted by Jeff Huntington and collaborators at Future History Now. The project was painted over the summer to honor the many African American taxi drivers throughout Annapolis’ history. The mural was completed by Future History Now with support from the Art in Public Places Commission (AIPPC) with financial backing from Severn Bank, Hyatt & Weber, ShoreGate Partners, Arason & Associations, Annapolis Carpet and Flooring, and others. Alderwoman Rhonda Pindell Charles, who advocated for the mural project, said, “the design is striking, and reminds us of the commitment of our taxi drivers and transit service operators to serve this community.” Mayor Gavin Buckley, a longtime champion of public art, added, “you have got to see this mural in person. It ‘drives’ home the importance of all manner of transportation options that make a City like Annapolis function. As we move to more green technologies and expanding mobility options in the City, we will continue to honor our history. |
