Hello from Corowa...

Good Design Awards Win

We’re closing out an exciting week, still thrilled about winning a prestigious Good Design Award Gold Accolade for PLAN RAND - the highest honour for design and innovation in the country.

The GDA jury recognised the project as “Refreshing and ambitious; an excellent design initiative by Regional Design Service with impact that is meaningful because the local community is now equipped with the tools to self-initiate ongoing financial investment and development in their township, within the context of sound placemaking principles.”

We feel incredibly honoured to have been recognised in Australia’s oldest and most prominent international Awards, and are grateful for the opportunity the Rand Town Improvement Committee afforded us by commissioning our team for the project.

PLAN RAND was a hugely rewarding job for us as a practice, particularly now as projects in the township are being completed and the community can start benefitting from them.

Project Update – ‘Oakbank’

Construction is well underway at one of our latest projects ‘Oakbank’, a beautiful 1940’s farmhouse in Daysdale.

Framing is currently taking place on the new extension and as more structure starts to emerge, the beautiful views from each new room are being revealed.

We look forward to sharing more progress shots in the coming weeks as things develop further!

Revitalisating a 1950’s Township - Journal Piece

We’re always working to enhance our website experience for visitors and as part of this we’ve created a ‘Journal’ page; designed to feature in-depth articles composed by our team on content relating to recently completed projects, award recognition or interesting industry news.

An article on the Tallangatta Shopfront Revitalisation Project is now live and explores the finer details around what the project actually involved, our role and approach, and the resulting benefits for the shop owners we were working with. Click below to have a read.

A quick update on the project - Following delivery of the revitalisation project, Artist Kirrily Anderson was engaged to deliver a series of murals that will capture stories and concepts from the past, present and future of Tallangatta.

We’re excited to watch these come to life as work officially commences next week. The designs will be brilliant artworks for the community and visitors to enjoy.
