Hello Family and Friends!
Well, first of all, we pray this finds you well and full of hope. We must admit to you, as we’re sure you already know, that this last month has been excruciatingly hard!! We are all OK and healthy, however, this “Stay at Home” order by our Governor, has been more than challenging. What a change in everything you have to do, or rather “can not do”! So… what did you do when you couldn’t do most things? Well, for us, it was a time for much meditation in the Word. God has brought us scripture after scripture to encourage us and to keep us level headed to move forward for when the time comes to begin again. But, all at the same time, we must stop and appreciate the down time we have been given, to contemplate all that is ahead for us to do. We have still not completely moved up here to Ft. Payne. We are continuing to go back and forth from here to Foley. We are praying for a Christian family to come and buy our house there, so that all the scripture that was written in the walls and floors when it was built, will come alive again, just like it did for us. We know that God will use it again for His glory!
And as for the house here, it has been a fight… We had a big storm a couple of weeks ago and it washed away part of our driveway. God sent us some workers though to fix it, at a discounted price at that! And many other things have gone wrong, but God has showed up just in time! And through this, we have made some contacts in the workers that were able to come out and help us work on the house. They have confirmed to us again that these mountains are definitely full of meth addicts and 90% of the people in jail are there because of drugs. So, there is work to be done! The internet and phone services are huge problems for us right now though, so please pray that we find the best solutions for that! We have been trying to do some phone counseling with some folks, but we have to drive down the road to find a good signal to accomplish that!
But, oh…The scenery here is magnificent! God has been so faithful with this house and His creation is glorious! We have purple bearded iris’ blooming around us in the hundreds; creeping flox and moss trailing over the rocks, and hostas everywhere. The dogwoods and wisteria just got finished blooming, with the butterfly bushes and asiatic lilies still yet to bloom. I have never had such a beautiful flower garden! Something new every day is peeking up through the ground. We are mourning the fact though that we are not being able to serve the Lord yet in what we love to do, however, we know He is preparing us, and you, for what is coming next… Awakening! So…We want to encourage you with a thought from our morning devotional that says, “Let the Holy Ghost prepare you, dear friend, by the discipline of life; and when the last finishing touch has been given to the marble, it will be easy for God to put it on the pedestal, and fit it into its niche.” Don’t grow weary in waiting! We love you much!
Blessings, Ken and Cindy
